Square Dancing

On Monday we spent a delightful evening teaching the A. family how to square dance. Not that we are professionals, however, we have learned a few of the basic steps such as Do-Si-Do , left allemande, grande 'ol right and left, and the Virginia Reel (one of our favorites!). We then had the treat of eating Mrs. A.'s southern vegetable soup with homemade bread! The Texas Star square dance

A Precious Blessing

On August 11, 2006, our Uncle Rich and Aunt Bethie welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the world. They named her Natalie Elizabeth, and she is now the youngest of three children (she has two older brothers, Bryce and Brendan). We praise God for our dear little blessing who has been added to our family! ( The above picture is of Aunt Bethie with Natalie)
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward,
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed

From July22 ~August 5 our cousins Jade and Joel came for a two week visit. We went swimming, played games, had campfires and went to an ice cream social. It was such a blessing to be able to visit with them....

Mr. Isbell preparing our Scottish Dinner.....Haggis!!!!!

The definition of haggis is as follows:

A Scottish dish consisting of a mixture of the minced heart, lungs, and liver of a sheep or calf mixed with suet, onions, oatmeal, and seasonings and boiled in the stomach of the slaughtered animal. Haggis is traditionally served with oat cakes, rutabaga and tatties (American translation- mashed potatoes). It was truly a unique experience, though not one that we want to try often!

Vacation Pictures, Part 1

Last week we had a most enjoyable time attending the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) conference. We heard convicting sermons, and had a profitable time of fellowshipping with other beleivers. After the conference, we went to visit our dear friends, The Vernon's. The time with them was so relaxing, enjoyable, and refreshing,we love Ya'll so much!!!During the conference, everyone had the job of kitchen duty, which includes making the meal, serving it, and then cleaning up the meal afterwards. We love being able to do this, as it creates a fun way to get to know those attending the conference. Getting ready to serve the meal!
