Mr. Policeman

We had the enjoyement of babysitting our cousin, I.G. one evening. It was a night full of entertainment and laughing!.....
To start off, we made pizza (in case you were wondering, pizza is not the only thing we can make:))
A S.A.M. tradition: Black olives on the fingertips! :)
For dessert, Kate and I. G. made brownies!
(Isn't it such a precious picture?!)
"Don't you guys have any soap around here to wash your hands?!"
While waiting for the food to bake, we started playing with the blocks and Legos.
Meg so faithfully making the space ship.
Showing me how the "fwashing wights" (flashing lights) work for when the space ship takes off and lands.

Now, this is where everyone really started to laugh... dinner time. I. G. has been carrying around his "ticket book", which is a note pad that he uses to write out tickets and gives them to someone if he thinks they are breaking the law (breaking the law could be anything from walking too fast to eating your food the wrong way). So, during dinner (amongst many other things), I.G. wanted to give Daddy a ticket for taking bites that were too big.
I. G. goes to get the "ticket book".
At this point, people started getting upset because they thought that it was an un-lawful ticket. Here, I.G. trys to defend himself.
After a talk with the "Judge" (who was S.A.M.), everyone agreed that it was a lawful ticket.
He writes out the ticket.
Daddy signs the ticket.
Then, the "Officer" (I.G.) did something to "break the law", he had to be reminded to use his manners. So, Meg gets out her ticket book and starts writing out a ticket. At this point, it's "Officer I.G." who is getting upset now!
Telling him why he is getting a "ticket".
So, I.G. wanted to speak to the "Judge" to decide whether or not he should get a "ticket".
"But you didn't use your manners!" the witness testified.
The "Judge" and "Officer" having a discussion about whether or not he is guilty.
The "Officer" is looking guilty.
The "Judge" and "Officer" (as well as the wittnesses) finally agreed that I.G. would not get a ticket but a "warning" that the next time he did not use his manners he would get a "ticket".
Meg writes out the "warning".
Mumzie signs the "warning" as a witness.
And the "Officer" signs the "warning" stating that he agrees to this.

After all the comotion, we finally left the dinner table to do some more building.

As you can imagine, we had a very fun and amusing time.

Sledding

On Saturday, we went to a sledding party hosted by our friends from church. We had a great time being with everyone, as we are not able to make it to many church activities outside of the Lord's Day, due to the fact we live so far away. The day started out with our Congregational Meeting, followed by lunch at a local restaurant then to the sledding party where we went sledding, had a snowball fight and enjoyed a delicious dinner...hot dogs over a campfire, chips, and home made doughnuts!!!!
Someone had a fun ride down the hill.

Blizzard!

Okay, okay we didn't have the amount of snow like upstate New York but here in the plains we had white out conditions and (this we still have) very deep drifts. Shoveling was just about useless until it stopped snowing and the wind was so cold it wasn't safe to be out for long. Yesterday, however, we had the huge job of shoveling everything out- important items like vehicles and sidewalks. Thankfully, the Lord blessed us with warm sunshine all day so the difficult job was not added to by difficult weather. The following are some shots of our snowfall accumulation.

~After~
Can you tell where it has been plowed? Me niether.

The pile of snow behind SAM is now about half way up to the windows of the garage. When we walk down that particular sidewalk it feels as if you are walking in a city of snow because the walls surrounding you are so high. Some walls are so high in fact that they are up to my shoulders.

This drift of snow had to be moved away from the house so that once it started melting we would have a dry basement!

On the right hand side of this photo is Mumsy's boot. You can see how high the snow was before we shoveled.

~~~
After a long day of shoveling we had the treat of heading over to the best sledding hill in town. Yes, it may look little to our readers, but it is the best we have got. The snow was perfect and the crowd was small. YeHaw!
The End.
