Morton May Birthday's

Daddy's Celebration on May 7.....eating at the Skyline Chili restaurant.

Celebrating S.A.M.'s birthday on the 8th

Yesterday, May 15th, we celebrated Motherums birthday (her actual birthday was on the 13th but we were not able to celebrate as a family as we had a meeting at our church and Dad had to work). We were rather adventurous (as adventurous as the Morton's can be), and piled into the van and drove an hour away for Mom to look for a new watch, and to look at homes that would be closer to our church. Our only dissappointment was that as we were in such a rush to get out the door, we forgot the camera!

On Saturday, May 13th, our Grandparents came to town and took Mom out for dessert for her birthday!

We also celebrated Mother's Day with Our Grandma J. on Saturday, May 13th

Then on Monday, May 14th, we celebrated Mother's Day with Grandma R. Derby pie was the treat!

Tomorrow, May 19th we will be having a big birthday celebration at Grandma J. due to the fact that My Aunt, Great Grandpa, and Great Uncle's Birthday were also this week. I wont go into all the details of the Morton side for birthdays as that will come next week..stay tuned!!

Send Off!

Here are some pictures of today. We traveled with two friends to the airport to send off our "adopted" older sister who went to be with her family. After meeting with some rather busy (somewhat grumpy) airport people we finally got her sent off to security safely.

We thought we were going to eat at Taco Bell but their sign was a little deceiving b/c of the fact that there was no building -just a bull dozer!

The night finished with Bocce Ball and a Pride & Prejudice viewing. We (not minding a bit) gave A.B. her first dose of the old P&P! Now I must get back for Elizabeth Bennent is going to Pemberley.

For Isaac. . .

Since you have been asking. . .

This is the backyard where we have spent some of our favorite memories.

This is the front, there is also a little more grass as you get closer to the road. On the left side there is the west yard, which is where the garden is. There used to be less garden (none) and more grass but our tastebuds like vegtables more than grass!

Westside with our beautiful magnolia.
This all takes a whopping 25-35 minutes to mow depending on how fast you can push. :) I hope this satisfies your curiosity but induces your parents to make a trip! So that we don't have show you everything by a blog! :)

Violin

On April 28th, Kate participated in her 2nd violin recital. As a parent it gives you great joy to see your children perform for God's glory. Kate has only been taking lessons for a year and is progressing very well.

The Girls with some of their friends at the recital

We provided the girls with piano lessons for about 8 years and the girls wanted to move on to the violin. Since they can be fairly expensive we decided that they could save their own money to purchase violins. Over the years, the girls had done odd jobs of dog sitting, caring for neighbor's homes, lawn mowing, and hoeing weeds in a local farmer's bean field to earn money. Within the last 2 weeks S.A.M. has been given a violin to borrow until she has enough money saved (from a lady we have not met) and a scholarship from Kate's teacher to take lessons free for a year! God is so gracious, providing for us in so many ways! Kate and S.A.M. are truly thankful!

On Saturday we had a great time celebrating our cousins birthday's. The kids jumped almost non-stop on the trampoline and enjoyed a few rounds of ping-pong.

I just could not help but post this picture of my nephew when he was at our house on Saturday
