A Quote
We recently came across this quote,
"The following oath became common for Confederate sympathizers:
"The following oath became common for Confederate sympathizers:
"Of my own free will and choice, I do hereby in the
Presence of these witnesses swear to be loyal to the South.
When speaking of Yankees, I will refer to them as
Scalawags or Carpetbaggers. And I promise to whistle or
Hum Dixie as a sign of my loyalty and token of my new
Outlook on life.""

Very touchy question: And you adhear to this?
(I know how to deal with you people) (Okay, okay, it's just a joke.)
This is Agent V with the ACLU. I find your statement politically incorrect and am going to have to sue you for $1,000,000,000,000,000!
:)
Agent V, this is Agent W with the IRS. I'm going to have to charge you 110% tax on that. However, since I like you, I'm only going to charge 109¾%. Be happy. Not all my "clients" are so fortunate.
:-D
Don't make me make a phone call to my buddies- uhmm, colleages at the FBI. (Ha!)
Just to let all of you "Agents" know you won't get one penny from us! We claim the First Amendment:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Milkdud~ Yes we adhear to this, though we have to be "underground sympathizers" up here. :)
~M~
What do you mean, "underground sympathizers?" I've met more of your people "up here" than anywhere else I've lived! In Illinois, people just fly confederate flags to look cool.
In some circles in which we associate we have to be underground... but in other circles we flaunt it freely!
~M~
Conversation looks slow: D'you guys want to e-argu this one?
I have my case laid out, you can go first.
Well, milkdud, I'm interested. I would tend to agree with you (mostly) and as such, the Mortons will probably have something to say to me next time I see them. :D
I'll flaunt my Confederate sympathes anywhere I like. If I have trouble... Milkdud, we can talk this over on Tuesday.
Ya'll talk a lot of treason about your government up there north of the border.
YES!!! Tuesday it is. I wanna watch this.
Wvernon (assuming this is Ike) just one thing: north of what border? Of course we're north of Mexico's border. Other than that, there are no national borders. :)
we are south of Canada Border.
Ohio had the most Northerners that joined the South.
It really isn't treason from where I am, it's common to find people as my self.
The CSA border on the US. Although Kentucky wasn't a very staunch Confederate state.
We posted this quote for fun and to see what kind of comments it would generate. Therefore, any e-arguing that goes on will:
~ be in fun
~will not create any physical harm to anyone
~stir up strife amongst the brethren!
Hopefully we are not too late in making these rules!
~S~
Judging by my broken arm, two black eyes, fat lip, and various other bruises on several places on body body from my "talk" with Bumpas. I'd say your too late.
Acually, we had a conversation and I found I don't disagree with you people too much. I guess I had a bad impression of yous guys (that's theres a real southern word) from the folks (another one) in Illnois who did a mock drowning of Abe Lincoln (I not making this up)[from what I hear, it was a hoot (yet another)].
I believe you should have respect for the office even if you don't respect the person. I've never even thought of doing a mock of Former Impeached Presedent Bill Clinton (Oh Yuck, bad taste in the mouth!)
{Have you noticed that I like parenthesizes [northern word][I'm not really sure if the algabraic standerd (or whatever) is right or not.][I like math]} :>)
Lincon should not have been assasignated after the war. During the war I have no problem save that it would have been unwise.
MILKDUD: "yous guys" is not a southern expression. It's more of a New York City gangster phrase.
BUMPAS: Youe knead too kwit mispelink al thoes wards.
wvernon-
I've heard many more people say "yous" down south than in New York.
Sory abuot the spelling. You can tell the subjict I do hurribly at in school.
bumpas I have to show Mom this. Realy bad spelling. If you wanted to make it worse you could spell spelling speling.
Of course, there are a number of different ethnic groups down here where that might be heard. The point is becoming more and more to just be understood whatever your backround is.
What's ya'll talkin 'bout "ethnic" groups? Were all just Americans ain't we?
ummmmmmm...
~S~, your rules require that this "e-arguing" (great term, by the way :) "stir up strife amongst the brethren!"
I believe you wish to require that these comments would avoid this. Just pointing this out. :D
O, one more thought:
Freedom of speech, but is this speaking?
Hehe.
Me being me. :)
Isaac-
Thank you for pointing that error out, I had not realized it before!
Oh, by the way, I cannot take credit for the term "e-arguing", I got it from Milkdud.
